Piano and Voice

Caity Kania is a versatile soprano with extensive vocal training, vocal pedagogy knowledge and performance experience, singing professionally since the age of 16. Music has always been her passion, as it was a large part of her family life growing up. Caity holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master of Music from Northwestern University, and a Choral Music Education Teaching Certification from Northwestern University.

Caity has sung all over the United States, including appearances at The Chicago House of Blues, The Rosemont Theater, The Kennedy Center, Chicago Cubs games, and Orchestra Hall. Caity has performed roles such as Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Sally in Die Fledermaus, Fiordilgi in Cosi fan tutte, scenes as Carmen by Bizet, Fiona in Brigadoon, and scenes as Maria in West Side Story. Caity has directing experience, teaching experience, studio recording experience, conducting experience, and vast performance experience singing genres of music, such as, rock, jazz, country, R&B, pop, opera, art songs, and music theater.

Most recently, Caity was the music director for a '60 Years of BHS Performing Arts Endowment Show’ fundraiser in Barrington. Caity has taught vocal lessons to students of all ages and all vocal styles for nine years. She enjoys learning and teaching all types of music and has made it her life's passion to share it with others.
