Lyn Canger

Piano

Lyn Canger comes to Consolidated Music with 31 years of teaching experience. She started piano at the age of four and continues to study the art. Lyn's degrees, a Bachelor's in music education and a Master's in performance, come from Northern Illinois University. Her philosophy is to be a guide to the appreciation and skill achievement of the instrument. Lyn guides a musical journey that is both varied and personalized, with roots in music theory and technique acquisition. Music lessons are much more than just learning an instrument; they are opportunities to acquire skills that can be used throughout life. Lyn especially enjoys working with children and is a certified teacher.

Aditionally, Lyn coaches and trains students for IMEA competition and Guild. When not teaching, Lyn works with charitable organizations in schools, hospitals, and nursing homes to enhance their lives through music. Lyn, her husband, and three children are all musicians who have played professionally in the Northwest area.
